A cohesive society is critical for strong economic and social outcomes – providing a foundation for prosperity, belonging, and equitable outcomes for all.
However, social cohesion is facing unprecedented challenges in Australia.
While we are a resilient nation, economic pressures, local and geopolitical issues and divisive rhetoric continues to take its toll.
In October, Western Sydney University, with the support of our partners, will be convening the inaugural Strengthening Social Cohesion Conference. This two day event will bring together representatives from community, government and industry across the nation to tackle the tough issues.
Through attending the conference, attendees will get the opportunity to:
- Access the latest national and international insights and research on cross cutting topics related to social cohesion and democratic resilience.
- Build new skills and expertise across a range of areas which drive outcomes on a macro and a micro level.
- Engage in critical conversations related to issues that matter to communities and shape collaborative solutions.
- Connect with practitioners and stakeholders from across the nation to share ideals and knowledge.
The conference is augmented by a series of hybrid immersion sessions, complimentary for attendees as part of the broader program. These sessions are geared towards equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to, individually and collectively, deliver solutions which improve social cohesion and the lives of the people they work with.
